Decoratori Bassanesi was founded in 1988. Today Decoratori Bassanesi presents itself to the market with a completely refreshed look, maintaining the theme of decoration, reworked with an authentic and visionary perspective. Research and attention to detail, which are the fundamental values of the company, permeate every branch of production, from the choice of materials to experimentation with the most progressive techniques.
We are featuring the following tiles from Decarotori Bassenesi in our stock offering:

Wa
The design for the Wă collection by Federica Biasi carries us away to Asia, taking cues from the designer’s travels in China, where she was inspired by the roof tiles of pagodas and typical dwellings in rural villages.
In these buildings, irregular handcrafted terracotta tiles are layered and stacked atop one another in an interlocking system inherited from ancient, traditional Chinese techniques. The designer has translated her impressions of the patterns of these tiles into a design structure, giving rise to the Wă collection.

Designer
Federica Biasi
Federica Biasi started her professional career in Italy, followed by 2 years in Amsterdam where she explored nordic design, learned to identify emerging trends and developed her own style. The focus was on formal simplicity: soft, graceful and detailed, with an always clean aesthetic approach. In 2015 she returned to Milan where she set up Federica Biasi Studio.

BON BON
Irregular shapes like old-fashioned sugar candies in dusty pastel colours create a unique mosaic. Always stylish, it never lacks a touch of humour and whimsy. In its monochrome version it recalls the timeless poetic elegance of classic wall coverings. Its multicolour variation plays with colours and forms to create unexpected effects.

Designer
Paola Navone
An open and eclectic dreamer: the flavours and colours of the global South that she knows and loves live in her mind and soul, in harmony with the taste and forms of the Western world and its rich traditions – open and in motion. All of this is the basis for the unquenchable curiosity of her constant search for materials, forms and structures, in the past, present and future.

RAIN
The Rain collection captures nature’s essence through its stylized design. This simple yet evocative mosaic is a new take on the rain theme with a pattern that changes with the laying direction and thickness for compositions spanning from sleek minimalism to bold artistry.

WINDY
The ceaseless wind and the ripples, swirls, and patterns it creates on water, across rice paddies and grasslands have inspired the new Windy collection by Oki Sato, chief designer and founder of Japan’s renowned Nendo design studio.

COPENHAGEN
Norm Architects has created a collection capable of interacting with our senses and playing with the contrast between light and shadow, allowing surfaces to change appearance throughout the day, while maintaining a “soft minimal” style with a calm and balanced character.

The collection is structured around two different textures: the first is linear and three-dimensional, the second has a smoother surface. The design allows you to create material combinations reminiscent of those you might encounter when walking through Copenhagen’s oldest neighbourhoods: places packed with unique and imperfect details, which are also understated and very welcoming.

SHADES
This way of looking at the project led me to play with a relationship between light and shadow. As I was intrigued by a precise moulding technique of the brand, I decided to go for a 3D surface that creates subtle yet sharp pattern of shades on the monochromatic tile surface.

I also felt it is nice to feel the time of the day by experiencing the transition of this living motif. The relief itself is so subtle and it creates a nice tactile experience. It is also designed as a floor surface and this relief acts as gentle anti-slip.

Flooring that finds a perfect balance in the juxtaposition of varied blocks, no two alike. A collection for contemporary interiors, whose pure simplicity brings uniformity to a space and at the same time is an ideal surface for ever-changing pairings.
